MEET GRACE HUTSON (ST. JOSEPH, WV)
Grace Hutson is a 5-10 rising senior two guard who plays at St. Joseph High School in Huntington, WV. Last season she led her team to a 22-1 record and a Top 25 National Ranking in Maxpreps' poll. Her statistics as a junior were 19.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 3 SPG and 2 ASP. For those efforts she was selected to the West Virginia All-State Team. Her all around game and ability to score should land her at either low D-1 or top D-2 program.
MEET JADEN SCHUTT (YORKVILLE CHRISTIAN, IL)
Jaden Schutt is a 6-5 rising junior off guard who attends Yorkville Christian High School in Yorkville, IL, a suburb of Chicago. Last season as a sophomore, he led his team to a 24-11 record and his impressive stats were 22 PPG, 3 APG, 9 RPG and 2 SPG. For those efforts, he was selected to the 1A All-State Honorable Mention Team. Schutt is considered among the Top 150 Players for the nation for the Class of 2022. Several mid to high majors are eyeballing him.
MEET ZACH AMONETT (PICKETT CO., TN)
Zach Amonett is a 6-2 rising junior combo guard who attends Pickett County High School in Byrdstown, TN. He can shoot the lights out with downtown range on the hardwood. His father, Joseph, is also the head coach of Pickett County High School and was a teammate of Tim Duncan at Wake Forest University. Zach was selected this past season as a sophomore to the D-1/3A All Regional Team. Due to his outside shooting ability and range, Zach will be recruited more as a two guard than a point guard by the midmajor community by the time he graduates.
MEET JALONI CAMBRIDGE (ENSWORTH H.S., TN)
A future star in the making is Jaloni Cambridge, a 5-6 rising freshman point guard, who attends Ensworth High School in Nashville, TN. Last season as an eighth grader, she was instrumental in leading her team to a 24-0 record which was capped off with a Division II-AA State Championship in Nashville, TN. She also made the All-Tournament Team for her heroics. Cambridge is a lightning quick lead guard who makes her teammates better due to her ability to see the floor, distribute, handle and score. The sky is the limit for her and an evenual D-1 program.
MEET TREY WOODYARD (LONDON, OH)
Trey Woodyard is a 6-7 rising senior wing forward who plays at London High School in London, OH. This past season he averaged 15 PPG and was Division II Third Team All-State. Woodyard has played varsity since his freshmen days and is an excellent student in the classroom. He is a deadly shooter with downtown range and can play "D" on the other end of the court as well. Several MAC programs are involved which would be a nice fit for him.
MEET DIANA BURGHER (NORTH HARRISON H.S., IN)
An up and coming player for the Hoosier State is Diana Burgher, a 6-0 rising junior combo forward, who plays at North Harrison High School in Ramsay, IN. She has played varsity since her freshman days, and last season led her team to a 13-10 record. Burgher is among the top players for her class as she was a preseason selection to the 2019-20 Hoosier Basketball Magazine "AAA South All-Regional Team" as a sophomore. A versatile forward who can score either inside or outside, I look for her to be recruited as a wing forward for the D-1 ranks by the time she graduates.
MEET KEN ROSS (LAKE CENTRAL H.S., IN)
A player flying under Division 1 college coaches' radar screens is Ken Ross, a 6-7 rising senior who attends Lake Central High School in St. John, IN. He was ineligible as a junior after transferring in from Andrean High School in Merrillville, IN. As sophomore at Andrean High School, he led his 21-8 team to a Class 2A State Championship. A versatile forward, look for at least midmajor colleges to recruit him for the power forward slot. Ross has to be the Hoosier State's top "Rip Van Winkle".
MEET ALYSSA ELSWICK (SHELBY VALLEY H.S., KY)
Alyssa Elswick is a 5-10 rising junior combo forward who plays for Shelby Valley High School in Pikeville, KY. This past season she led her team to a 22-9 record and a 15th Region Runner-Up Title. Her stats as a sophomore were 14.5 PPG and 8 RPG while shooting 48% from the field. For her efforts, the Lexington Herald-Leader selected Elswick to their All-State Honorable Mention Team. With her ability to score both inside and outside, my crystal ball show a D-1 future ahead of her.
