KENTUCKY'S TOP 80+

MEET LANE SPARKS (GREENSBURG, IN)

One of the top perimeter shooters in the Hoosier State is Lane Sparks, a 6-2 senior two guard, who attends Greensburg High School in Greensburg, IN. Last season he averaged 21 PPG, 4 APG and 7 RPG in leading his 3A team to a 23-2 record. For those efforts, he was chosen by the IBCA to the IBCA/Subway Large School All-State Team. Low to mid Division I colleges will be most interested in his services due to his ability to stroke the jumper with range.

NATION'S TOP 100+ BOYS

MEET BRIANNA BYARS (GEORGE ROGERS CLARK H.S., KY)

A future star emerging in the Bluegrass State is Brianna Byars, a 5-10 rising sophomore swingman, who attends George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, KY. Last season as a freshman she averaged 12.5 PPG and 7 RPG while shooting 48% from the field. She was a vital factor in leading her team to a 22-10 record and a 10th Region Championship. Due to COVID-19, the Girls Sweet 16 was cancelled after five games into the first round of the state tournament; thus, her team didn't get to play. More scorer than shooter, Division I programs will be knocking at her door.

MEET JAXON SMITH (LINCOLN CO. H.S., KY)

Jaxon Smith is a 6-0 rising junior lead guard who plays for Lincoln County High School in Stanford, KY. He put his name on recruiters' maps as a freshman when he led his team to the "Sweet 16" Tournament at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. This past season Smith averaged 13 PPG and 3 RPG while shooting 46% from the field and 70% at the charity stripe as his team finished 25-8 and a district championship. A cerebral playmaker, he is destined for at least midmajor by the time he graduates.

MAINTENANCE AND FUTURE BLOGS

Beginning next week for around seven days, my web page will be undergoing annual maintenance. I should be up and running again by next weekend. This month I will begin doing my Top Regional and National Player Rankings for both boys and girls for the 2020-21 season. First I will do the rankings regardless of class, and later rankings will based by classes. So stay tuned!

MEET GRACE LABARGE (FREMD H.S., IL)

Grace LaBarge is a 6-3 rising senior combo forward who attends Fremd High School in Palatine, IL. This past season she played a vital role in helping her 30-7 team win the 4A Illinois State Championship. Her stats were 9.5 PPG and 4 RPG while her size in the paint was a factor on defense. This southpaw's nice touch, height and potential to get better down the road will draw in the scent of at least lowmajor programs.

MEET CHARLES BEDIAKO (IMG ACADEMY, FL)

Charles Bediako is a 6-11 rising senior post man who will be playing this upcoming season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. This past season he played at ISA at Andrew Osborne Academy in Willoughby, OH. Bediako is originally from Canada. This 215 lb insider is considered among the Top 25 Players nationally due to his ability to run the floor, score, rebound and reject shots on defense. Duke and Auburn have the inside track on signing him.
