MERCER CO. IS QUEEN OF THE BLUEGRASS STATE

Harrodsburg Mercer County captured the KHSAA girls state tournament Sunday at NKU in Highland Heights (KY) by defeating Frankfort Franklin County for the second consecutive time this season. Mercer County owes a huge debt to Murray who defeated the tournament favorite, Louisville Butler, in the quarter-finals on Friday. Butler defeated Mercer County back on January 7th by a score of 80 to 55. Mercer County would have played Butler in the semi-finals had Murray not defeated Butler.
