
Coach Mike Beitzel
Camp's Player Analyst
Coach Mike Beitzel is a retired college basketball coach with strong basketball coaching and academic credentials. He was Captain & MVP at Wooster College and earned his M.Ed. from the U. of Cincinnati and Ph.D from Ohio State University. He has coached at nearly every level of play including high school, the NAIA, and the NCAA Division I, II, & III. His teams earned several conference championships and national tournament experiences. Several of his teams earned top 10 national rankings. He began his head college coaching career at Northern Kentucky University and finished at Hanover College where he became the all time winningest percentage coach in school history. In 1996 he coached the NCAA Division III National Player of the Year, David Benter. Many of his former players have gone on to become high school and college coaches. He has been honored as a Kentucky Colonel, the Sagamores of the Wabash Award from the State of Indiana, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.Camp Coaches
The camp's league teams will be coached by quality coaches nationwide from the ranks of the NAIA, junior colleges and high schools. Throughout the 30+ year history of the "Blue-Chip" Camp, over 25 staff members have become college coaches. Also, we have had several high school coaches who have won state championships and one college coach, Happy Osborne of Georgetown College, has won a NAIA national title.
